Be Still My Heart

Sometimes, I can’t believe I’m the same girl I was 5 years ago. So many things have changed about me that whenever I see old photos of myself, I’m either lusting over my old body or cringing at the sight of my chubby cheeks, weird hair and fashion choices. 

Well, as they say, change is the only constant thing in the world. And sometimes, change is good. Let’s hope that it’ll get better and better for the years to come!  :D

Incidentally, its been awhile since my last outfit post and well.. TADA!! this shall be my comeback post!

I wore this out to dinner with my family. Most of the times, its really difficult to choose what outfit to wear when I’m out with the fam bam. I wouldn’t want to appear overdressed when I’m with them but when they resort to the same old top and shorts combo, I couldn’t help but feel overdressed no matter what I’m wearing.

So.. what could a girl do?? Prepare their outfits so we could match! YEY!!! Sometimes they give in, sometimes they don’t. But its so fun when they wear the outfits I pick for them cause we then would look so cute (i’d like to think so that we do. HAHA)

Oh so slow

Another backlog post with my old hair. Honestly, I kind of don’t want to shoot with my red hair just yet because it’s kind of fading already. I want it to be more vibrant so I’m thinking of dyeing it again before the New Year comes.

Anyway, days have been moving oh-so-slow after Christmas passed. I’ve been dying of boredom and too much food intake the past few days. My stomach is so full that I can feel it stretching every time I eat something (which practically every time I see something edible). I’ve been missing my yoga classes the past few days because I’m just so lazy to moveee. :< Must hit the gym or diet or do something about this fat I’ve accumulated over the holiday (and we still have media noche to look forward to OHLORD)

It’s been too long

So, this is another post waiting to rot in my drafts. I don’t know why I didn’t post this sooner. I absolutely love the lighting here, thanks to the magic hour.

And also to my sister for helping me with the shots :)

So, I’m feeling anxious right now. My last finals for the term was awhile ago and it was awful. Do you ever get the feeling like you just wanted to burst out in flames and just disappear?Well, upon seeing the super, duper long test questionnaire awhile ago, I swear I almost wanted to die right then and there.

Fine! Maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit but seriously, I don’t know if I’m getting dumber or tests are just getting more tedious and difficult. (I think it’s the former. Must be all the junk food. HAHA and also, my laziness probably is taking it’s toll on me.)

Anyway, I was feeling particularly very lady-like the day this was taken. So, I got my midi-skirt on and build my outfit from there. I would’ve added a floppy hat but I didn’t want to be overdressed for a casual sunday with my family.

My current hair is far from this photo. I had it cut and dyed into a new color last Sunday. I would’ve wanted the color change to be much obvious but I guess you’ll have to wait for my new outfit posts to find out if its a subtle change or not.

I actually have 2 more pending posts with my old hair so I guess that has to go first. HAHA

Don’t get too attached

I easily get attached to things. I guess it has something to do with my trusting nature. (or not) That’s one thing I’d like to change about me (Actually, there’s a bunch but I’ll save you guys the list! HAHA)

It’s not entirely a bad thing but I guess, for my sake, I better try not to. My sister and I actually have a term for it, “koala-ing” HAHA (Because you know, how the koalas cling to the tree.)

Example: Stop koala-ing! He’s not even your boyfriend!

The point is… I have to stop myself from whatever this is I’m blogging about because I’m not making any sense! 

Anyhoooo… wore this to a chill sunday with the fambam! It’s been a while since I last shoot outdoors and I really miss it! Too bad I didn’t dress up accordingly.  

Is it just me or my ears are weirdly small? 

Had to edit out my brother from the background for the other photos except this one because I got lazy. HAHA

Bringing back the light

*Starting off this post with a huge portrait of my face:

*Now, I’ll proceed to narrate how busy I was the past week because of my finals:

The lack of updates in my supposedly “online diary” slash blog, is due to my ever demanding academic activities.

This week was sooo great! If you consider staying up late studying for exams and being overdosed in caffeinated drinks (resulting to a very weird “I-want-to-sleep-but-I-can’t-stop-talking” mood) great. But it’s okay. I can handle it. However, I’m terrified to check my grades :S I was not the best student this term. And I know I can do better. 

*Finally, let’s talk about the outfit:

If this top looks familiar, it’s because you’ve probably seen this here before! Only, it was in a different color and it was a tad bit bigger. (remember this?) 

I’ve always been the kind of girl that buys both if I can’t decide which to pick. Especially if it’s cheap and if I think it’s a great “investment”. And I think this lace tee is! It’s cheap and goes with a lot of stuff in my closet.

I’m still on my “burgundy/red/maroon high” and this pair is one of those “oohh I love this because its burgundy/red/maroon, I’m gonna buy it” moment. (I’m such an impulsive shopper!)

Added these tassel earrings (which according to my friend, looks like a chinese ornament!) because they were red. HAHA

School strut: All the luck in the world

I always find myself daydreaming about the future. I guess it’s not that unusual to do. I’m often lost in my own thoughts, staring blankly into space, pondering on what the future will be like; what will change and what will remain the same.

Maybe that’s the reason why I prefer to be alone at times. I’m just too caught up with the mess inside my head. I don’t even know if its all worth thinking about.

Probably not. But somehow, the possibilities are eating me up inside. 

It’s just been difficult to deal with lately. Insecurities are bubbling up despite me trying not to care. I feel so suffocated inside my own comfort zone and I know its my own fault why I’m stuck. I know I have to dosomething worthwhile, create something amazing. But I’m just me. And I’m not capable of that. I know it! HAHA

This is all so vague! HAHA how random of me! :))

Pardon the crappy photographs. I failed to charge my external flash and have to resort to RAW settings and tacky photoshop editing to make it look like this.

Anyway, just another day in school. Decided to wear pants and I “dressed” it up a bit by wearing colorful separates and sneakers for that “chill-hipster” look. HAHA /fails

Don’t pass it up.

Hi, I’m Joyce. This is my blog and my grin is stupid-looking and goofy like this:

I also have huge bags under my eyes because of my shitty sleeping schedule and, I also didn’t bother to cover up my blemishes or put on make up for my pale, haggard face (except maybe, a faded eyeliner) because I’m lazy like that :p

Anyhoo, I shot these photos at around 6-ish. It was almost too dark for an “outdoor” shoot except, there were few hints of blue rays coming from the sun. So, thinking that there’s still a little “light”, I decided to go for it and just edit whatever is needed later.

I rely too much on post processing sometimes. (Bad traits for a photographer, I know!)

It’s a little grainy but I guess it’s okay.

Uhmm. The outfit is nothing special. I wore it to an exhibit in SMX with my parents. It’s full of machinery and other electronic stuff. It’s actually pretty cool. A lot of freebies, too!

I donned a brown blazer to make it look “professional” and wedges to make me look taller! 

What can you say about my transparent bag? Cute right? Totally adorbs!! (not to mention, cheap too!) They’re available in other pretty pastel colors  and I can’t help not to pass it up!

I feel pressured to put cute stuff in it because it’s see through. HAHA And since I was running late, I just stuffed my bag organizer inside! (Coincidentally, the same color as the handles of my bag!)

School strut: So far away

This is a very late outfit post.

Actually, I still have tons of backlags to do. I’m not sure if I’d still post it here since I’ve already posted it on my instagram (follow me!! tearsofjoycee) and posting it here will be almost useless because…. well, let’s admit, I’m kinda lame with this blog post stuff.

And also, the whole point of this “narcissistic garb” I post on this equally narcissistic blog is for me to document my everyday outfit which is accomplished day to day. (thanks to my Iphone).

WARNING: Excuse my haggard face, chunky arms and legs. HAHA 

So one day, I brave the school with a body-con dress. (CONFIDENCE LEVEL OVER 999 HAHA)

And despite my frequent visit to Mcdonald’s and endless chunking down of yummy junk foods, I was thick-faced enough to wear it to school. Of course, I added a vest to cover some of the “love rolls” I’ll acquire after eating. HAHA 

To toughen up the look, I also wore my super, duper overused boots (I’m not kidding! Just look at the dirt and mud marks! It’s just so convenient for school especially during the rainy days!)

I wore pink socks to make the “transition” of the sweet floral to the tough-looking boots a little subtle, and it somehow made the peaches on my dress pop more! 

Another reason I wore a vest: my straps are showing! HAHA (TMI MUCH)

School strut: It’s the last time

Been feeling lazy to post proper outfit shots besides my daily “outfit of the day” photos I post on my instagram (Follow me!! It’s tearsofjoycee with double “E”)

I also have too many backlogs that I’m actually considering not posting some of it and just start anew. Forget about the past right? 

Incidentally, I decided to experiment with my post-processing on these photos. I’m actually trying to get the “feel” of the film photographs I saw on my mom’s large stack of photos but I’m not sure if I got it right. It looks a little more like lomo. But lomo is film and for me, this set still looks nice.

School strut: Can I get it right?

I must admit, I love dressing up for school. And even with the dress code and all these restrictions, I still love it! Sure, I do get lazy at times (a lot, actually!) but I like thinking of what outfit to wear, mixing and matching clothes etc. 

I guess it’s a girl thing. Kind of like playing with a barbie doll except, its just me! HAHA

What I don’t like, however, is the “stares” and weird looks I get from other students especially, when I wear my boots. It makes me feel super conscious! They must think I’m such a “feeler” or a wanna-be, trying-hard by wearing “unusual” outfit to school  (meaning: not the typical shirt + jeans + Jansport).  I actually don’t like being the center of attention so I’m kind of bothered by it :| 

That’s why I try to avoid places in school that have a lot of people. HAHAHA

But at the end of the day, it all comes down to me and what I think about myself. As long as I think I look presentable enough to face the world, I don’t care about the stares/glares/smirks. I’m just gonna put on my earphones, scan my awesome playlist, pump up the volume and pretend I’m invisible! (kinda am, actually! LOL superpowers!!)

It sucks to be a girl sometimes. (Actually not just sometimes. It’s sucks more often than I would have liked)

School strut: Save me from myself

You know how at times there’s this annoying little voice inside your head telling you you’re not good enough, sneering at your “little” achievements saying you don’t deserve it at all? Well, this past few days, that defeating little voice have been constantly bugging me, making me feel insecure and inferior. The used to be whisper is turning into a loud reminder of how I’m not good enough for anything (or anyone pssh). It sucks because I somehow used to think it’s all in my head but now, I’m actually considering that maybe the stupid monologue inside my head is the truth.

School strut: Is it too late?

Sorry for not updating as much! I’ve been feeling a little too lazy to shoot my outfits this past week because I feel so exhausted from school stuff and also, the weather is driving me craaazzzy!

I’ve been waiting for the sun to come out since last week because I want to shoot outdoors (how vain of me!) and also, I hate the “dew-y” air the rain brings. But well, it looks like the gloomy weather is bound to stay for awhile. 

So, this is a backlog outfit.

I wore this ensemble last week to class, then bonding with mom after. I actually wore this dress awhile ago, too. And then, just decided to not wait for the sun to come out and just shoot it indoors. Boo-hoo.

I missed my summer hair color (which is brown with red ombre´) so I decided to have it colored the same way! I don’t know if its because it’s newly colored, or because when I shot the photos for my summer hair color it was already, kinda faded, but it seems like the red is more vibrant now than my previous one. LABO

I’m addicted to this metal belt and have been abusing it ever since I bought it!! Where to buy more metal belts?

Nothing much to post these past few days. So, I’m just posting these backlog photos from last week. Was feeling girly but lazy that day so I opted for this maxi dress :>

I drown in your memory

It was extra windy today, too! I hate what it did to my hair! I was kind of hesitant not to post these shots but its not everyday I get to shoot outdoors with the afternoon sun shining brightly so, whateverrrr.

I wore OASAP.COM’s wedges again! I told you they’re a perfect match in almost everything! They’re super comfy too! I walked around in these for hours and surprisingly, I survived!!
